What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 16:00 and check-out at 12:00. If the villa is free, earlier arrangements can be made separately.

How do I get the keys to the villa?

Every villa has a lockbox. The code is sent by email 24–48 hours before check-in, so no in-person key handover is needed.

How do I get to Oravi?

Accepted Answer

Oravi is about 45 km from Savonlinna and 60 km from Varkaus. The easiest way is by car. Arriving by boat is also possible, guest boat slips are available for rent at Oravi marina. Helicopter access is available too: there is a suitable landing area nearby, please notify us in advance. The nearest airports are Savonlinna (SVI) and Varkaus (VRK).

Are pets allowed in the villas?

Pets are welcome at all our villas. Please always let us know about your pet when booking. A €30 cleaning fee applies per pet.

Is there a fenced area for pets?

The Oravi villas have a fenced dog yard available to all Oravi villa guests. The Kartano and Tallusniemi villas do not have a dedicated fenced area, but pets are still welcome.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellation is free up to 30 days before arrival. 14 to 30 days before, 50% of the price is refunded. Under 14 days, no refund is given. We recommend taking out travel insurance.

Can I book multiple villas for the same weekend?

Yes, all villas in the same area can be booked simultaneously. This is especially suitable for large groups, celebrations and corporate events. Contact us to discuss package pricing.

Is there a minimum stay?

During peak season (June to August) the minimum stay is 3 nights. At other times the minimum is 2 nights. Exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Are bed linen and cleaning included in the price?

Yes, bed linen, towels and final cleaning are always included in the price. Weekly cleaning can be arranged separately for longer bookings.

Yes, all villas have a reliable WiFi connection that works well for both remote work and video streaming.

When is the shore sauna in use?

Wood-heated shore saunas are available 1 May–15 Oct. Electric saunas are available year-round. The hot tub (palju) is at the Saimaa Kartano villas (Sääksi and Norppa) and is available year-round.

The hot tub (palju) is at the Saimaa Kartano villas (Sääksi and Norppa) and is available year-round. Other villas do not have a hot tub.

Can events be held at the villa?

Saimaa Kartano Sääksi has a dedicated meeting and event space, suitable for corporate gatherings and larger celebrations. Norppa and the other villas are suitable for smaller gatherings. Please inform us about events when booking.

What activities are available nearby?

From Oravi you can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, boat trips, fishing, ringed seal safaris and cycling. In winter there is skating, skiing and snowshoeing. Linnansaari National Park is a short boat ride away.

Can you swim in Lake Saimaa?

Yes, all villas have their own beach and dock. The water is clean and swimming is one of Finland's most popular summer activities. Water temperature varies between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius during peak summer.
